IU Credit Union was founded in 1956 by employees of the Indiana University community who wanted a safe, convenient place to save and borrow money at reasonable rates. Our founders believed that the not-for-profit business model would best serve the unique needs of their community. Our continued success has shown they were correct.

Today, IU Credit Union membership is open to Hoosiers who live or work in more than 50 Indiana counties.

We’ve grown steadily as we have continued to focus on meeting the unique financial needs of our more than 64,000 members. Our assets total more than $915 million, placing us among the largest credit unions in Indiana.

We believe our growth has been achieved by continually giving members more value and by staying true to the vision of our founders who believed a financial institution owned by its members would act in the best interest of its members.
